The Najaf Chamber of Commerce received the Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Najaf, Mr. Şenol Sevim, in the presence of the Chamber’s Chairman and members of its Board of Directors.
The Chamber’s Chairman, Engineer Zuhair Muhammad Ridha Sharba, emphasized the importance of establishing genuine trade cooperation, highlighting the significance of strengthening economic partnerships with Turkey, given its important industrial capabilities, particularly with the presence of a Turkish Consulate in Najaf. He reviewed the history of cooperation between the two countries and the trade fairs in which Najaf merchants participated in previous years in Istanbul, Gaziantep, and Diyarbakir, and called for reactivating reciprocal participation in trade fairs in both countries.
For his part, the Turkish consul expressed his keenness to strengthen trade relations between the two countries, raise the level of cooperation, and focus on commonalities. He also promised to investigate and follow up on the trade files raised by the president and members of the Chamber’s board.
