The Najaf Chamber of Commerce received the Greek Ambassador in Baghdad, Mr. Georgios Almanos
The President of the Najaf Chamber of Commerce, Engineer Haider Al-Athari, praised the success of the Iraqi-Greek forum in Baghdad, indicating that it is the beginning of strategic partnerships between Greek and Iraqi businessmen.
He added that Najaf is characterized by a long history of various industries as well as the availability of raw materials and has great importance in religious and archaeological tourism and agriculture, which constitutes an opportunity for partnership and cooperation between the two countries in the event of proper communication.
For his part, the Greek ambassador expressed his gratitude for the role played by the Najaf Chamber of Commerce and its president in the success of the Iraqi-Greek forum held recently in Baghdad and talked about
the great development in Greek industries in the field of construction, pharmaceuticals, food and clean energy, as Greece’s exports are low in quantity but high in quality and international specifications
, adding that Greece has great expertise in the field of tourism management and can help Iraq in this field, expressing his optimism about opening a direct flight line between Erbil and Athens, describing it as a first step towards opening a line.
The meeting was attended by members of the board of directors of the chamber and a number of businessmen.
