The Najaf Chamber of Commerce hosted an introductory seminar (the culture of electronic payment and its role in promoting financial inclusion and financing internal and external trade). In cooperation with the Gulf Commercial Bank (GCB), the Director of the Financial Inclusion Department, Mr. Amjad Sami, Ms. Khawla Abdulamir, Director of the Najaf branch, and Mr. Hussein Ali Abdullah, Audit and Credit Officer at the General Administration of the bank, presented the importance of the concept of financial inclusion for every member of society and knowledge of his rights and duties, indicating that there is a crisis of confidence between the banking sector and the public due to the lack of awareness.
On the other hand, he pointed out that there is a major shift caused by the e-commerce options made available through electronic payment.
The discussion was opened with traders and recorded their remarks about the obstacles facing their work and ways to overcome them, such as money transfers and their fees and insurance issues on import transfers, and the director of the Najaf branch, Khawla Abdul Amir, talked about the procedures for letters of guarantee, opening accounts, deposits and central bank instructions that are subject to financial and banking transactions important to traders.
