The Najaf Chamber of Commerce received the Bulgarian Chargé d’affaires in Baghdad, Nikola Draganov, his assistant and the Bulgarian Commercial Attaché.
The Chairman of the Chamber, Engineer Haider Al-Athari, said that there are common circumstances between the two countries, including the transition towards a market economy that makes cooperation and integration between the two countries important. He also pointed out that there is a governmental, popular and commercial trend to diversify resources in Iraq, while the agricultural sector occupies a priority among these resources, and if Bulgarian expertise is used in modern mechanization, seeds and others, this will be reflected in production.
For his part, the Bulgarian chargé d’affaires pointed out that there is a good opportunity for Bulgarian companies to work in Iraq, especially in light of security stability and the existence of economic opportunities, pointing out that Bulgaria’s strategic location and proximity to Iraq makes the partnership between the two countries very important.
The Commercial Attaché said that Bulgaria sees Iraq as an important and reliable partner, especially with the existence of old economic relations with Iraq and provided information on the most prominent trade fairs in Bulgaria for the Chamber to present them to Iraqi traders wishing to participate in them in addition to providing a list to the Chamber of Bulgarian companies wishing to work and partnership with Iraq.
