The Najaf Chamber of Commerce received the Turkish Ambassador to Baghdad, Mr. Anil Bora Anan, in the presence of the Chairman and members of the Board of Directors of the Najaf Chamber of Commerce, the Chairman of the Najaf Chamber of Industry and a number of businessmen and owners of Najafi companies.
The Chairman of the Chamber, Engineer Haider Al-Athari, said that this visit is important in the framework of economic cooperation between the two countries, especially after the signing of more than 20 memorandums of understanding on the sidelines of the recent visit of the President of the Turkish Republic to Baghdad, indicating the importance of activating bilateral companies between companies and businessmen in the two countries.
The ambassador spoke about the importance of the city of Najaf, where a Turkish consulate general was opened and decided that his first visit after receiving his work would be to this holy city, offering condolences on the occasion of the advent of the holy month of Muharram.
The ambassador pointed out that the volume of trade exchange between the two countries is large but not at an adequate level, indicating that investment in the industrial field is very important and to motivate Turkish businessmen to work in Iraq, the investment protection agreement must be approved in the Iraqi Parliament and the Turkish National Assembly.
Regarding the development road, the ambassador said that it is an important project and we must be more serious because the Faw port is progressing rapidly as the competent authorities are currently in the process of determining the point of connection between the two sides to extend the Turkish railways and the Turkish government is waiting for the agreement of the governments of Baghdad and Erbil to determine the point of connection and send coordinates to the Turkish side, there will be industrial cities and fuel stations on this road.
