The Najaf Chamber of Commerce, represented by Mr. Haider Azawi, participated in the periodic meeting of the Industrial Advisory Council at Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, with the attendance of representatives of the public and private sectors, a delegation from the World University Service in Canada (Tawasul Project), and a number of university deans and department directors.
The Council discussed the contribution of the public and private labor markets to summer student training, the labor market’s need for scientific research to address its problems, preparations for the Investment and Entrepreneurship Fair, evaluation of the results of previous employment fairs, and design of training curricula to bridge the gap between the labor market and academic studies.
A representative from the Najaf Chamber of Commerce emphasized the importance of introducing the concept of entrepreneurship to students and graduates. An agreement was reached with the university to create a special application form for its graduates to join these courses, encouraging them to establish their own businesses and integrate into the private sector.
