The Najaf Chamber of Commerce received the Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Najaf, Mr. Şenol Sevim, on his first visit to the Chamber since assuming his duties at the Consulate.
Chamber Chairman Engineer Haider Al-Athari pointed to the historical and geographical ties between the two countries, which necessitate the establishment of genuine trade cooperation, particularly with Najaf, which is distinguished as an agricultural, industrial, and tourist city visited by millions of visitors annually.
He highlighted the importance of activating industrial cities within the Development Road project to strengthen economic partnerships rather than relying solely on trade exchange.
For his part, the Turkish Consul expressed his keenness to strengthen trade relations between the two countries, raise the level of cooperation, and focus on common interests. He also promised to investigate and follow up on the trade issues raised by the Chairman and members of the Chamber’s Council.
