The Chamber’s president, Engineer Haider Al-Athari, spoke about the historical economic relations between the two countries and reviewed the coordination with the Iraqi-British Business Council (IBBC) to help Iraqi businessmen participate in economic conferences and forums in Britain.He also explained the role that the chamber plays as a link between companies and traders and the bodies that regulate commercial activity.
The Director of the Development and Growth Department at the British Embassy explained that his embassy is striving to find ways to develop business and diversify the Iraqi economy away from oil, whether through developing policies and communicating with relevant authorities, speaking about the Public Financial Management Project to overcome obstacles and facilitate procedures, which is being implemented by the embassy.
The Chamber’s board members presented their visions regarding economic development and cooperation with Britain.
Alaa Al-Dulaimi, Head of the Studies and Publications Department, reviewed the department’s activities in providing entrepreneurship training and equipping participants with project planning and digital marketing skills. She also discussed the high demand among young people for these training programs, particularly given the growing societal trend towards entrepreneurship.
