The Chairman of the Najaf Chamber of Commerce, Engineer Zuhair Mohammed Redha Sharba, received the Ambassador of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, Mr. A.M. Maksudul Haque, in the presence of several Chamber board members and merchants from Najaf Governorate.
At the start of the meeting, the Chairman highlighted the deep historical and economic ties between Iraq and Bangladesh, praised the quality of Bangladeshi industry, and emphasized the importance of strengthening trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
For his part, the Ambassador emphasized his country's commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, highlighting key Bangladeshi products and industries—foremost among them rice, fabrics, and apparel—and noting the significance and scale of the Bangladeshi workforce in Iraq.
He expressed a desire to organize specialized exhibitions and workshops bringing together businesspeople from both nations, aiming to boost trade and open new avenues for economic cooperation.
He also listened to various ideas and proposals presented by businesspeople and merchants from Najaf, pledging to follow up on them in a manner that serves trade and economic relations between Iraq and Bangladesh.
